On January 22, Lu Chun, Vice President of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and Executive President of CityU (Dongguan); LI Juan Julie, Associate Vice President of CityU and Vice President of CityU (Dongguan); YUE Chee Yoon, Dean of the Graduate School of CityU, and Li Guoyao and Liu Zhigang, Associate Deans of the Graduate School of CityU paid an academic visit to SIAR. Chaired by NAE member Prof. Zhang Jie, the symposium was attended by Tu Jing, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of SIAR; Ni Rui, Vice President of the Graduate School of USTC and Vice President of SIAR; S.Kevin Zhou, Executive Dean of USTC’s School of Biomedical Engineering; and Xu Xiaorong, Director of SIAR's Human Resources Department.

　　At the symposium, Prof. Zhang Jie welcomed the delegation and introduced SIAR participants, while Lu Chun proclaimed the need to further exchanges and cooperation between USTC and CityU after affirming their long-term cooperation.

　　Ni Rui gave the background to SIAR, and introduced the development of USTC-CityU Joint Advanced Research Centre (Suzhou); YUE Chee Yoon listed some of CityU's achievements in education and scientific research, future construction goals, initiatives to promote innovative education for students, and postgraduates' innovation programs.

　　Then, they discussed a joint doctoral program, the construction of a new science and technology business school, the strengthening of academic exchanges, and the cultivation of students' innovation ability.

　　In the end, the delegation exchanged views with students jointly trained by the two universities in Suzhou, in addition to visiting SIAR's exhibition hall and biomedical engineering laboratory.
